Lecture and Practicum/Work

Unless otherwise specified, all lecture/practice/practice activities are regulated as follows:

  1. Lectures/Practicum/Work are held in the PDTS SV UGM campus as scheduled.
  2. Every student who is officially registered has the right to attend lectures/practicums/work organized by PDTS SV UGM in accordance with applicable regulations.
  3. To be able to take part in lectures/practicum/work, students must be registered as participants by filling out a Study Plan Card (KRS) which is approved by the Academic Advisory Lecturer.
  4. To be able to get marks for the lectures/practicums/work that have been followed, students are required to take an exam organized by PDTS SV UGM.
  5. To take the exam for a course, students are required to attend lecture activities related to that course, with a minimum 70% attendance percentage of the total attendance held.

Theory Lecture

Theoretical lectures are carried out in accordance with the provisions set out in the academic calendar of Gadjah Mada University, for one semester. During the lecture, the student concerned must attend lectures, with a minimum attendance percentage of 70% of the total meetings held. If the student in question does not meet the specified criteria, then he is not allowed to take the exam.

Lectures are carried out by lecturers or a team of lecturers, assisted by a lecturer assistant appointed by the lecturer of the relevant subject (certain subjects). Requirements regarding lecture rules are regulated in Chapter XI. In lecture activities, in addition to being given material about the subject, students are also given assignments that can come from lecturers or lecturer assistants regarding the relevant subject. The value for the theory course is given by the lecturer of the relevant subject, based on the final exam scores, insertion exams, and assignments given.

Practical Lecture

Practical lectures or what is commonly called practicum/work are lectures conducted in studios, workshops, laboratories, fields, or in class as needed. Practical courses are taken care of by lecturers or a team of lecturers with the help of lecturer assistants and laboratory assistants.

In practical courses, students form a group consisting of several students, who will work together to do the tasks given by the lecturer of the course for one semester. After the student concerned has completed the practical/work assignments (practical courses), the student is required to make a practicum report, which contains the material that the groups of students have worked on for one semester. After the preparation of the practicum report, it is followed by a response test by the lecturer and lecturer assistant of the subject in question. The value of practicum courses is based on student activities during practicum/work, practicum reports, assistant inputs, and response test scores.

Assistant

Assistance is a companion activity or called an independent/structured activity organized by the Civil Engineering Diploma Program, SV UGM, and carried out by a lecturer assistant who has been appointed by the lecturer of the subject concerned. Assistance is provided during the lecture period. PDTS SV UGM students are required to participate in assistance activities provided that the student concerned must attend assistance activities minimum 70% of the scheduled meetings. If the student in question violates these regulations, he or she may be subject to academic sanctions.

This assistance activity includes an explanation and enrichment of material which has basically been given by the lecturers, so it is hoped that this assistance activity will greatly assist students in understanding the course material.

In lecture and administrative activities students are given the opportunity to consult, ask for input, opinions and suggestions about activities carried out to one of the lecturers who have been determined by the management, including the following:

  1. Internship Guidance

Internship Advisors are appointed by the management.

  1. Practical Work Guidance (KP) and Final Project (TA).
